Nous avons commencé l’initiation à la lecture, par l’apprentissage de l’alphabet. La première leçon a porté sur les tons; c’était un choix difficile. Aujourd’hui nous attaquons les voyelles (auxquelles les tons sont liés). Elles sont onze: des voyelles identiques à celles de la langue française (a, e, i, o); des voyelles spécifiques aux langues camerounaises (α, ə, ɔ, ʉ.); des voyelles simples et des voyelles doubles avec prononciation spécifique. Le tableau ci-dessous tente de donner pour chaque voyelle sa prononciation dans des mots français et anglais.

We started the introduction to reading , by learning the alphabet. The first focused on the tones ; it was a difficult choice, but do not worry . In this second lesson, we are focusing in vowels. 14 vowels are used. Some are written and read like in french (a, e, i, o.); others are specific to Cameroon languages;(α, ə, ɔ, ʉ.); some are single, and others are double with a specific pronounciation. See list below
