DIASPORA

The Haut-Nkamois have always practiced emigration, as have all the Bamileke. Some do not hesitate to call them invaders. For a long time they have sought fortune first in the neighboring or distant regions, towards the great cities and even abroad. The thirst for adventure, knowledge, or fortune has led them to Europe, America, Asia, & c. Go to Korea, you will meet a Upper-Namese who speaks, reads and writes the Fe’fe, who speaks and teaches Korean. What do they seek: peace, well-being, the acquisition of goods. The Haur-Nkamois have always practiced emigration, as have all the Bamileke. Some do not hesitate to call them invaders. The descendants of children born in America at the time of the Negro slave trade returned to Africa to seek their roots. Will it be so for this generation of Upper-Nokamois children living abroad? Let us think of it now. Come to the Congress of the Nufi Cultural Association which is held in Bafang from 31 March to 02 April 2017. The main objective of our Association is to safeguard and promote our language and culture, wherever the Upper Nokamois live. Nufi has in this perspective, opened a website nufi-cameroun.org; Visit it to recharge your batteries; Through the site, contribute to the debate on the enrichment and modernization of our traditions. We need your help, however modest.
