Les Haut-Nkamois s’expatrient avec leurs coutumes et traditions. Ils restent attachés à leur terroir d’origine. Ils s’organisent en associations par villages d’origine: association des ressortissants de BABONE; association des ressortissants de BANA, de BANDJA, etc. Les associations fournissent le cadre d’une solidarité traditionnelle. Tous les membres se retrouvent autour du leur lors de tout évènement joyeux ou triste. N’est-ce pas merveilleux ? Cependant il y a un hic ! Quoi qu’ils fassent les expatriés perdent progressivement la maîtrise de la langue maternelle et des traditions; à tout le moins, leurs enfants les ignorent. Un enfant nait à l’étranger, grandit et vieillit sans revenir au terroir natal. Les descendants des enfants nés en Amerique du temps de la traite des nègres, reviennent en Afrique chercher leurs racines. En sera-t-il ainsi pour cette génération d’enfants haut-nkamois vivant à l’étranger ? Pensons-y dès à présent. The descendants of children born in America at the time of the Negro slave trade returned to Africa to seek their roots. Will it be so for this generation of Upper-Nokamois children living abroad? Let us think of it now. Come to the Congress of the Nufi Cultural Association which is held in Bafang from 31 March to 02 April 2017. The main objective of our Association is to safeguard and promote our language and culture, wherever the Upper Nokamois live. Les Haut-Nkamois ont toujours pratiqué l’émigration, comme d’ailleurs tous les Bamiléké. Certains n’hésitent pas à les qualifier d’envahisseurs. Depuis bien longtemps, ils sont allés chercher fortune d’abord dans les régions voisines ou lointaines, vers les grandes villes et même l’étranger. La soif d’aventure, de connaissance ou de fortune les a conduit en Europe, en Amérique, en Asie, etc. Allez en Corée, vous rencontrerez un Haut-Namois qui parle, lit et écrit le fe’efe’e, qui parle et enseigne le coréen. Que cherchent-ils : la paix, le bien-être, l’acquisition de biens.
L’objectif essentiel de notre Association réside dans la sauvegarde et la promotion de notre langue et de notre culture, partout où vivent les haut-nkamois.
