Quelle catastrophe !!!
What a disaster !!!
Nufi is in mourning; death has destroyed one of its pillars. Is it true that LEMESSI Lambert Gustave is no more? How are we going to endure this event?
Last week, Sunday, March 18, sharp morning, he went to take a bath, before going to church. Suddenly he begins to complain of a violent stomach ache; his wife took him to the neighboring infirmary where he was given an infusion to appease the disease. The next morning, they went to the hospital where an X-ray control indicated an intestinal perforation. As they were prepare to scan him, he pasted away.
On March 23, the deceased’s family, friends and Nufi cadres from Yaoundé drove his remains to Melen Catholic Church, where he used to serve as a reader; the vicar celebrated a mass to restore his soul to his God; he praised his life as a Catholic Christian and his commitment to the Church.
After mass, the dead body is then transported to Bafang, in the family compound where the mourning begins with a new Mass, followed by scenes of tears. The next day, the funeral included a farewell mass, completed by a series of complimentary testimonials to the deceased, and messages of condolence from friends, members of his extended family, members of associations from different localities. In short, LEMESSI leaves the image of a wise and intelligent child, a man of peace, commitment to his faith and in all his fields of activity.
NUFI, its leaders and teachers from Yaounde and Bafang were keen to accompany their colleague in this last phase of his earthly life. The two members of the National Nufi Directory, Messrs DAKAYI KAMGA and SADEMBOUO Etienne, took the floor, the first to convey NUFI’s condolences to the bereaved family, the second to make the funeral praise of LEMESSI. He held a special position in NUFI, our cultural association.
- He obtained all degrees in the fe’efe’e language, advanced in pedagogy of teacher training, he taught this language to adults and young people, at school or in associations regular meeting.
- Very meticulous, he assured for many years, the secretariat of the Nufi Regional Directory in Yaoundé and managed its archives. At the general meetings of NUFI, the General Assembly or Board of Directors, he was regularly appointed rapporteur; he was present wherever NUFI’s outreach problems were discussed.
- More recently, he was chosen by the Biblical Alliance of Cameroon to participate in the great project of translation of the Holy Bible in February, and was retained in the group of reviser. Death did not give him time to prove himself on this site.
Lambert, you loved your language and your culture; you loved NUFI. Rest in peace with the ancestors and predecessors and may God welcome you to his Kingdom.
As for us, let’s not forget LEMESSI Lambert Gustave, let’s not forget his widow
and orphans.
